In the fourth quarter of 2025, real wages in Slovakia rose by 1.9% year-on-year, accelerating from a 1.3% increase in the previous quarter and marking the ninth consecutive quarter of real wage growth. The average nominal monthly wage climbed by 5.8% to EUR 1,739, an increase of EUR 96 compared with a year earlier.
All 19 monitored sectors reported year-on-year nominal wage growth, ranging from nearly 3% in public administration to more than 11% in electricity, gas, and steam supply. However, real wages declined in three sectors: public administration (-1.2%), administrative services (-0.6%), and real estate activities (-0.4%). Most other sectors recorded real wage gains above the national average.
In industry, Slovakia’s largest employer, wages increased by 6.7% to EUR 1,884, while wages in trade rose by 5.6% to EUR 1,597. Employees in electricity, gas, and steam supply earned the highest wages, averaging more than EUR 3,000 per month. At the opposite end of the scale, accommodation and food services remained the lowest-paid sector, with average monthly wages only slightly above EUR 1,000.
