FX.co ★ Macedonia Unemployment Rate Continues to Fall

North Macedonia’s unemployment rate eased to 11.3% in the first quarter of 2026, its lowest level since at least 1993, down from 11.4% in the previous quarter. The number of unemployed people fell by 1% to 90,499, with men accounting for 62.4% and women for 37.6%. At the same time, the number of employed persons slipped by 0.3% to 707,385, of whom 57.9% were men and 42.1% women. The employment rate stood at 46.5%. Informal employment increased to 94,197, with the largest share in agriculture, forestry and fisheries (43.6%), followed by construction (17.5%).
