The Dutch economy grew by 0.6% in the three months to June 2026, an upward revision from the initial 0.4% estimate and following 0.3% growth in the previous quarter. This was the strongest quarterly expansion since the third quarter of 2024 and was driven entirely by domestic demand.
Household consumption rose by 0.8%, accelerating from a 0.5% increase in the first quarter. In contrast, government spending growth eased to 0.5% from 0.7%, and gross fixed capital formation slowed to 0.3% from 0.7%, reflecting more modest increases in business and household investment alongside weaker government investment. Both exports and imports expanded by 1.4%.
On the production side, the information and communication sector recorded the strongest growth. Year-on-year, GDP increased by 1.6% in the second quarter, revised up from a preliminary 1.3% and following a 1.4% rise in the previous quarter.
