Motorbike sales in Indonesia jumped 15.37% year-on-year to 654,343 units in September 2026, marking the highest monthly volume since October 2014. This was the fastest annual growth in motorbike sales since May, accelerating sharply from a 3.18% increase in August.
Over the first nine months of the year, sales reached 5.02 million units, up 3.71% from the same period a year earlier. The Association of Indonesian Motorcycle Industry (AISI) expects full-year sales to remain relatively stable in a range of 6.4 million to 6.7 million units.
In the previous year, motorbike sales rose 1.3% to 6.4 million units, in line with AISI’s target range of 6.4 million to 6.7 million units, though the pace was slightly slower than the 1.5% growth recorded in 2024. On a monthly basis, sales climbed 9.7% in September, rebounding from a 6.2% decline in August.
