The Czech Republic’s unemployment rate held steady at 5% in September 2026, unchanged for the third consecutive month. The number of unemployed declined by 5,514 compared with August, but was higher by 30,452 year-on-year, reaching a total of 368,377 people. Women represented 54% of the unemployed, while men accounted for 46%.
During September, 62,099 jobseekers were removed from the unemployment register, an increase of 22,691 compared with the previous month and 11,107 more than in September 2025. Of these, 45,568 individuals secured new employment.
At the end of September, employment offices recorded 24,446 school graduates and young people, who made up 6.6% of all unemployed persons—up from 4.8% in August, but down from 6.9% a year earlier. Over the month, the number of job vacancies rose by 5,085 to a total of 104,359.
