FX.co ★ Vietnam Retail Sales Growth Highest Since 2023

In April 2025, Vietnam experienced an 11.1% year-over-year increase in retail sales, building on a 10.8% rise in March. This marks the 40th consecutive month of expansion in retail activity, achieving the highest growth rate since May 2023. The surge was primarily driven by significant increases in sectors such as tourism, which jumped by 46.1% compared to 25.1% in March, accommodation and food services, which rose by 18.8% from 16.4%, and other service sectors, increasing to 17% from 15.4%. Conversely, the growth in trade for goods showed a slight deceleration, registering an 8.8% rise compared to 9.2% the previous month. Over the first four months of the year, retail activity climbed by 9.9%.
