FX.co ★ Euro Area Jobless Rate Remains at Record Low of 6.2%

In June 2025, the unemployment rate in the Euro Area remained steady at a historic low of 6.2%, unchanged from the revised figure of May and slightly below the anticipated 6.3%. The number of unemployed individuals dropped by 62,000 from the previous month, totaling 10.7 million. Notably, the youth unemployment rate, which tracks individuals under 25 seeking work, declined to its lowest rate since April 2023, falling from a revised 14.3% in May to 14.1%. Among the major economies in the bloc, Germany and the Netherlands reported the lowest unemployment rates at 3.7% and 3.8%, respectively. In contrast, Spain, France, and Italy recorded higher unemployment figures at 10.4%, 7%, and 6.3%. Compared to the same period last year, when the unemployment rate was 6.4%, there has been a noticeable improvement. Additionally, the unemployment rate across the broader European Union was recorded at 5.9%.
