In August 2025, Lithuania experienced a 6.4% year-on-year increase in retail sales, up from a revised 4.7% growth in July. This represents the most substantial rise in retail activity since December 2024. The surge is largely attributed to the ongoing increase in non-food product sales, which grew by 14.8%, maintaining the pace from the previous month. Sales of automotive fuel saw a slight recovery, rising by 0.1% compared to a 5.8% decline in July. Similarly, sales of food, beverages, and tobacco improved, recording a 0.4% rise after previously falling by 0.4% in July. Conversely, sales at non-specialized stores experienced a marginal dip of 0.1%, an improvement from the 0.9% decrease observed in the prior month. On a month-to-month basis, retail sales climbed by 1.7% in August, an acceleration from a revised 1.1% increase in July, marking the quickest growth rate in four months.
