In August 2025, Serbia witnessed a 1.4% reduction in the number of building permits issued compared to the same month last year, totaling 2,542 permits. This decline followed a 4.6% decrease observed in the previous month. Analyzing the permits, 87.2% pertained to buildings, with the remaining 12.8% allocated for civil engineering projects. Within the realm of building permits, 85.6% were designated for residential buildings, while 14.4% were for non-residential structures. In terms of civil engineering, a significant portion (80.3%) was attributed to projects involving pipelines, communication, and electric power lines. New construction works represented 81.1% of the total projected value of all works. The Beogradska region is anticipated to experience the highest level of construction activity at 45.0%, trailed by Juznobanatska (7.5%), Srednjobanatska (7.1%), Severnobacka (4.1%), and Pomoravska (4.1%).
