In September 2025, Denmark's manufacturing sector witnessed a notable 8% month-on-month increase, signifying a strong recovery from the revised 3% decline observed in August. This surge represents the most significant growth in manufacturing activities since April 2024. Notable output increases were recorded in the transportation industry, which jumped to 34.9% from 4.6% in August. The pharmaceuticals sector also rebounded sharply by 23.8%, up from a decrease of 8.5% in the previous month. Similarly, the textile and leather industry saw improvements at 4.9% from a prior decline of 0.5%, electronic components rose to 9.6% from a drop of 3.1%, and the furniture and other manufacturing categories increased to 2.7% from a slight fall of 0.7%.
Conversely, there was a slowdown in growth for wood paper products and printing, which dropped to 1.4% from 12.6%. Meanwhile, there was a decline in output for food, beverages, and tobacco, which decreased by 1% following a previous decrease of 0.5%. Chemical and oil refineries experienced a downturn of 1.7%, shifting from a marginal 0.1% increase, and metals and fabricated metal products saw a significant drop of 7%, contrasting with a previous rise of 8.3%.
On an annual basis, after adjusting for seasonal variances, manufacturing output surged by 10.4% in September, recovering significantly from a revised decline of 6.9% in the previous period.
