FX.co ★ Macau Inflation Rises to 14-Month High

The inflation rate in Macau increased to 0.60% in October 2025, marking the highest level since August 2024, up from 0.47% in the preceding month. This uptick was driven by quicker price increases in several categories: food and non-alcoholic beverages witnessed an increase of 0.70% compared to 0.56% in September; alcoholic beverages and tobacco surged to 2.48% from 0.89%; household furnishings and services rose to 0.52% from 0.23%; health climbed to 0.69%, up from 0.63%; transport experienced an increase to 0.59% from 0.44%; and miscellaneous goods and services saw a rise to 1.92% from 1.14%. Meanwhile, declines in prices slowed for clothing and footwear, which fell by 1.07% from a previous drop of 1.43%, and information and communication which decreased by 2.57% compared to a 2.94% fall in the prior month. Conversely, the growth in housing and fuels decelerated slightly to 0.33% from 0.37%, as did recreation, sport, and culture, which eased to 2.35% from 2.81%. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices experienced a marginal increase of 0.03% in October, following a 0.1% rise in September.
