In October 2025, the annual growth rate of lending to Swedish households increased to 2.9%, up from 2.8% in the previous month, marking the highest rate since February 2023. Housing loans, which represent 83% of total household lending, rose by 2.7% year-on-year. Consumer loans, making up 6% of household lending, saw a 4.0% annual increase. Lending to non-financial corporations experienced a 3.0% growth over the year. The average interest rate on new mortgage agreements decreased slightly to 2.72% in October from 2.80% in September, whereas the average fixed rate for new housing loans with maturities between 1 and 5 years was recorded at a higher 2.89%.
