In November 2025, Malaysia's retail sales experienced a year-on-year increase of 6.4%, marking a deceleration from the 6.8% growth observed in October. This represents the slowest expansion since August, influenced by more modest gains in several sectors. Specifically, retail sales in non-specialized stores grew by 8.7%, down from 9.1% in October, while trade not conducted in stores, stalls, or markets increased by 7.2%, compared to 8.6% previously. Additionally, the sale of automotive fuel in specialized stores saw a rise of 6.7%, slipping from 7.2%. On a monthly scale, retail activity contracted by 0.4% in November, in contrast to a 0.6% increase recorded in October.
