Turkey's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased to 7.7% in December 2025, improving from a revised 8.5% in November. This represents the lowest unemployment rate recorded since the inception of data collection in 2005, with the number of unemployed individuals falling by 286,000 to stand at 2.74 million. Concurrently, total employment saw a reduction of 42,000, bringing the figure to 32.69 million, while maintaining the employment rate at a stable 49.1%. Analyzing by gender, male employment remained constant at 66.8%, whereas female employment experienced a slight decline to 31.7% from 31.9%. The labor force participation rate also experienced a dip, decreasing to 53.2% from 53.7%. Additionally, the youth unemployment rate (ages 15–24) decreased to 14.1% in December from a previous 15.2%.
