FX.co ★ Brazil Vehicle Production Falls in June

Brazil’s vehicle production declined by 3.0% month-over-month in June 2026, totaling 246,000 units, following a 6.3% increase in May. The drop was largely due to reduced light vehicle inventories at manufacturers, after roughly 79,000 vehicles were sold to dealerships with government-backed discounts under a new Provisional Measure. Light vehicle output came to 189,200 units, a decrease of 17% from May. Within this segment, passenger car production fell 6.5%, and bus manufacturing contracted by 20.8%. By contrast, output of light commercial vehicles rose 15.1%, while truck production grew 3.9%.
