FX.co ★ Israel Jobless Rate Edges Down

Israel’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 2.8% in August 2026, down from 3.1% in July. The number of unemployed decreased by 17.2 thousand from the previous month and by 7 thousand from a year earlier, reaching 131 thousand. At the same time, the employment rate slipped to 60%, as the number of employed persons declined by 1.4 thousand to 4,397.3 thousand, even though the employed population was 6.319 thousand higher than a year earlier. The labor force participation rate inched down to 61.8%. On a non-seasonally adjusted basis, the unemployment rate also fell, to 2.9% from 3.3% in July.
