FX.co ★ Chile Producer Inflation Hits Highest Since 2022

Chile’s producer inflation accelerated to 23.6% year-on-year in August 2026, up from 20.5% in July, marking its highest rate since April 2022. Price growth picked up across all sectors, with the sharpest increase in mining, where inflation climbed to 40.2% from 34.7%. This was driven chiefly by higher copper prices (up 41.3% versus 35.3%), as well as rising diesel fuel and steel cable costs. Manufacturing inflation also quickened, reaching 6.9% from 6.5%, while cost growth in utilities inched up to 1% from 0.5%. On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 2.8%, accelerating from a 1.9% increase in July.
