Mexico’s economic activity increased 3.4% year over year in July 2026, surpassing market expectations of 2.5% and accelerating from the 2.8% expansion recorded in June. Growth was led by the tertiary sector, which rose 4.0%, boosted by strong performances in wholesale trade (13%), cultural, sports, entertainment and recreational services (8.0%), and government activities (4.6%). The primary sector expanded 3.4%, supported in particular by a 2.7% rise in livestock production. The secondary sector grew 2.7%, with both mining and manufacturing output up 1.6%, and construction posting a solid 7.3% increase. On a monthly basis, overall economic activity advanced 0.8%, offsetting the 0.1% decline seen in the previous month.
