All participants were divided into two categories: city concept cars and prototypes. While the first ones have the same number of wheels, headlights, and windshield wipers as regular cars, prototypes are intended for covering maximum distance with one unit of gasoline. As a rule, they are drop-shaped to improve aerodynamics, have three wheels and the least number of parts allowed by regulations.

The trace route was quite difficult, but the MADI Eco Team has showed a good result - 193.75 kilometers with 1 litre of gasoline.

The team of AIRBUS HELICOPTERS Centre de Formation Technique has revealed the best result among prototypes. The French students made it possible to cover 2,300 kilometers with one litre of gasoline.

One of the keys to success is the car's aerodynamics. But even more important things are sway resistance, weight, and efficient operation of the power unit.

The London track of the Shell eco marathon turned to be more difficult than the one in Rotterdam. The Britons added a lot of road humps and 5% uphill.

As for now, the main reason of leaving the route is weak engine power.
