Top officials of African countries put forwards demands to Michel Djotodia, new head of the Central African Republic. In late March, rebels led Michel Djotodia seized the power in the capital and declared him a president. He dissolved the Parliament and suspended the Constitution, which was followed by an urgent summit held by ten Central Africa’s countries. The summit resulted in a declaration stating these countries do not recognize Michel Djotodia as the CAR’s president. The representatives of African countries clamoured that an interim government be set up and general election be arranged in the Central African Republic.
