Norway's unemployment rate experienced an uptick in December, reaching its highest level in the past eight months, according to data released by Statistics Norway on Monday. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate climbed to 4.2 percent in December, rising from 3.7 percent in November. This marks the highest unemployment rate since April, when it stood at 4.3 percent.
The number of unemployed individuals increased to 126,000 in December, up from 113,000 the previous month, as reported by the agency. Additionally, the employment rate declined to 69.1 percent from 70.0 percent in November. On a trend basis, however, the unemployment rate remained steady at 4.1 percent.
