At the election, she introduced a scheme developed by the energy company, Scottish Power. The scheme could cost around £100 billion ($116 billion) with 2-year freezing of energy bills. Notably, this initiative was widely supported by other energy companies.
Sources close to the matter claim that British Energy Minister Kwasi Kwarteng, who is seeking the post of the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, is ready to discuss this scheme. Truss has been mulling over a mechanism allowing to freeze energy bills for quite a long time.
