In July, Sweden saw its unemployment rate decline to the lowest level in seven months, as reported by Statistics Sweden on Friday.
The unadjusted unemployment rate fell to 7.7% in July, down from 9.4% in June. For comparison, the jobless rate in July of the previous year stood at 6.2%.
The number of unemployed individuals dropped to 454,000 in July, from 566,000 in June. Among these, young people aged 15 to 24 accounted for 149,000 unemployed individuals, or 17.7% of the workforce, according to the agency.
Additionally, employment rates experienced a slight increase, rising to 71.7% from 71.5%, which equates to 5.444 million people being employed.
