In a filing with the SEC, Halliburton reported that upon discovering the breach, it immediately activated its cybersecurity response plan. This included launching an internal investigation supported by external advisors, aimed at evaluating and mitigating the unauthorized activity. As part of the response, Halliburton proactively took certain systems offline to safeguard them and notified the appropriate law enforcement agencies.
