Australian retailer Woolworths Group Ltd. (WOW.AX, WOLWF) announced significant price reductions on hundreds of products both in-store and online starting August 28.
The company's initiative aims to provide customers with substantial savings on everyday essentials this Spring, slashing prices on over 450 items, with discounts reaching up to 23% on popular family meals.
Introducing the "Lower Shelf Price" program, Woolworths highlights products with reduced prices to offer ongoing budget relief throughout the year, rather than just seasonally. Beginning Wednesday, more than 50 items will see price cuts, with additional reductions expected in September.
This initiative complements Woolworths' seasonal "Prices Dropped" program.
As customers shift towards outdoor dining and lighter meals, Woolworths has reduced the prices of various fresh proteins, including family favorite meats. Notable reductions include a 15% cut on Champagne Leg Ham Sliced From The Deli, a 17% decrease on Woolworths Beef Sizzle Schnitzel 400g, and a 22% reduction on Woolworths Chicken RSPCA Approved Chicken Wings 1.38kg - 1.8kg.
Additionally, the company is lowering the prices on several pantry staples such as salad dressing, snacks, kids' yoghurts, as well as household cleaning supplies and personal care items until November 26.
From August 28, a variety of items ranging from pantry essentials to snacks and dairy products will feature the "Lower Shelf Price."
Paul Harker, Woolworths Chief Commercial Officer, stated, "This Spring, we are reducing prices on over 450 products to help customers better manage their budgets, particularly as Australians reconnect with family and friends over meals and gatherings as the weather warms up."
In tandem with the "Prices Dropped" for Spring and the "Lower Shelf Price" programs, Woolworths shoppers can take advantage of thousands of weekly specials, including numerous half-price offers, and save an average of 30% by choosing Woolworths' own brand products over comparable branded items.
