South Korea's Consumer Sentiment Dips in March

In March 2025, South Korea's Composite Consumer Sentiment Index (CCSI) declined to 93.4 from 95.2 in February. While current consumer sentiment held steady, there was a slight dip in future expectations. Confidence in current living standards remained constant at 87, however, the outlook for the future edged down to 92, marking a one-point decrease from the previous month. Projections for future household income softened to 96, and anticipated household spending saw a decrease, falling by two points to 104. Although perceptions of current domestic economic conditions stayed unchanged at 55, expectations for future economic conditions weakened, declining by three points to 70. Inflation expectations for the coming year stood at 2.7%, with both three-year and five-year forecasts projected to remain at 2.6%.
