Mexico Current Account Deficit Returns In Q1

In the first quarter of 2025, Mexico experienced a significant reduction in its current account deficit, which decreased to $7.61 billion from the $22.207 billion recorded during the same period in the previous year. A notable shift occurred in the goods account, which moved to a surplus of $1.029 billion, transforming from a deficit of $2.745 billion. Furthermore, the primary income deficit showed improvement, decreasing from $32.532 billion to $23.304 billion. Additionally, the services sector experienced a turnaround, with a surplus of $510 million compared to the previous gap of $885 million. Meanwhile, the secondary income surplus saw an increase, rising from $13.956 billion to $14.153 billion.
