In July 2025, Poland witnessed a notable increase in retail sales, rising by 4.8% compared to the same month in the previous year. This was a substantial improvement from the 2.2% growth observed in June and surpassed market forecasts, which had predicted a 3.5% increase. The sales in various categories experienced growth: pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and orthopedic equipment saw a rise to 7.2% from June's 5.8%, textile, clothing, and footwear climbed to 13.2% compared to the prior 11.8%, furniture, radio, TV, and household appliances surged to 13.8% from 10.2%, and newspapers, books, and other specialty stores increased to 2.4% from 1.9%. Moreover, there was a notable rebound in sales for food, beverages, and tobacco, registering a 4.7% increase following a previous decline of 0.1%. However, the growth in sales for motor vehicles and parts decelerated to 4.5% from 7.7%, and sales of solid, liquid, and gaseous fuels experienced a downturn, decreasing by 4.9% following a 5.7% increase. On a month-to-month basis, retail activity rose by 4.4% in July, counteracting the previous month's 1.8% decline.
