U.S. stock futures steadied on Tuesday after a decline in major indices marked the beginning of the week. This comes as investors paused for breath following last week's significant rally. The spotlight is on Nvidia's eagerly awaited earnings report due on Wednesday and the Federal Reserve's preferred inflation measure slated for release on Friday. In Monday's regular trading session, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 0.77%, the S&P 500 decreased by 0.43%, and the Nasdaq Composite was down by 0.22%. Out of the 11 sectors in the S&P 500, nine ended the day in negative territory, with consumer staples, healthcare, and utilities leading the downturn. The weakness occurred as investors secured gains after Friday's robust surge, which was spurred by Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell's indication of a potential interest rate cut as early as September. On the corporate side, Interactive Brokers saw nearly a 4% rise in extended trading after S&P Dow Jones Indices announced the online brokerage would replace Walgreens Boots Alliance in the S&P 500 Index.
