Retail sales in Portugal saw a 5% increase year-on-year in September 2025, building on a revised 4.4% rise in August. Non-food sales surged by 6%, surpassing the previous month's 4.2% growth, while food sales grew by 3.7%, down from 4.7% in August. On a monthly basis, retail sales experienced a 0.2% uptick in September, marking the first increase in three months following a 0.9% decline in August. In the third quarter, retail sales were up 5.2% compared to the same period last year.
