Belgium’s annual inflation rate accelerated to 1.45% in February 2026, up from a more than two-year low of 1.10% in January. The main upward contributions came from prices in health (6.47% vs 6.54% in January), restaurants and hotels (5.03% vs 4.83%), recreation, sport and culture (4.53% vs 3.59%), information and communication (3.06% vs 2.75%) and alcoholic beverages and tobacco (1.78% vs 0.64%). In contrast, prices continued to fall for housing and utilities (-2.18% vs -2.29%) and for furnishings and household equipment (-0.09% vs -0.55%). On a monthly basis, the consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.54% in February, following a 0.44% rise in the previous month.
