Thailand’s Trade Deficit Widens Slightly in June to $2.7B

Thailand’s trade balance remained in negative territory in June 2026, with the trade deficit edging down to -2.70 billion dollars, compared with a revised -2.60 billion dollars recorded in May 2026.

The latest figures, updated on 31 July 2026, point to a modest further widening of the deficit month-on-month. While the change is relatively small, the back-to-back negative readings underscore continuing external pressures on Thailand’s trade position, whether from softer export demand, higher import costs, or a combination of both.

Market participants and policymakers will be watching upcoming releases closely to assess whether June’s deterioration marks the start of a more persistent trend or a short-term fluctuation in the country’s external accounts.
