Belgium Producer Inflation Slows

Belgium’s producer price inflation eased to 9.1% year-on-year in June 2026, down from 9.7% in May, as domestic price pressures weakened (8.3% vs 9.1%). This moderation was partly offset by a pickup in external price growth, with producer inflation for foreign markets accelerating to 11.0% from 8.2%.

By sector, producer inflation slowed in manufacturing (9.0% vs 10.3%), but strengthened in mining and quarrying (2.3% vs 1.9%) and in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (11.5% vs 4.3%). It remained unchanged in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (4.2%). Energy inflation decelerated sharply, dropping to 16.6% from 24.4%.

Across main industrial groupings, producer prices for consumer goods declined at a slower rate (-1.3% vs -2.2%), reflecting less pronounced deflation in non-durable consumer goods (-1.6% vs -2.4%). In contrast, inflation picked up for intermediate goods (17.2% vs 15.7%) and for durable consumer goods (4.7% vs 4.1%).

On a monthly basis, producer prices fell 1.1% in June, reversing a 0.8% increase recorded in May.
