Belgium Producer Inflation Edges Down

Belgium’s producer price inflation eased slightly to 9.0% year-on-year in July 2026, down from 9.1% in June. A slowdown in non-domestic producer price inflation (9.9% vs. 11.0%) was partly offset by a pickup in domestic price inflation (8.7% vs. 8.3%). Manufacturing price inflation also moderated, falling to 8.7% from 9.0%.

Within manufacturing, inflation for intermediate goods decelerated sharply to 14.5%, from 17.2% in the previous month. Prices for non-durable consumer goods remained in deflation for the tenth consecutive month, though the rate of decline eased to 1.5%. Energy prices continued to exert strong upward pressure, with energy inflation jumping to 20.9% from 16.6%.

By sector, price growth accelerated in mining and quarrying (3.1% vs. 2.3%) and in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (13.4% vs. 11.5%). On a monthly basis, producer prices rose by 0.4% in July, reversing the 1.1% decline recorded in June.
