In February 2025, Romania experienced a 3.2% year-on-year decline in industrial production, following a 2.1% increase observed in January. This downturn was marked by significant decreases in mining and quarrying, which fell by 6.3% compared to a 2.1% rise previously, and a 3.7% drop in manufacturing, a sharp contrast to the 2.7% growth recorded in the prior month. Conversely, there was a notable recovery in the output of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply, which improved by 2.5% after having declined by 3.3% in January. On a month-to-month basis, industrial output decreased by 2.1% in February, offsetting the 2.0% rise registered in January.
