In March 2025, Croatia's annual inflation rate decreased to 3.2%, down from 3.7% in February, aligning with preliminary forecasts. This represents the lowest inflation rate recorded since November of the previous year, largely attributed to a deceleration in the inflation of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which slowed to 4.7% from 5.1% in February. Other sectors contributing to the eased rates include housing and utilities, dropping to 4.5% from 4.6%, and furnishings, household equipment, and routine maintenance, which decreased significantly to 0.5% from 1.8%. Conversely, deflation trends intensified in the sectors of clothing and footwear, with a fall to -2.7% from -2.4%, and transport costs also saw a reduction, moving to -0.4% from an increase of 1.8%. Contrarily, certain sectors experienced inflationary pressure; health costs rose to 5.4% from 4.6%, while recreation and culture saw a slight increase, reaching 5.7% from 5.5%. On a monthly scale, consumer prices increased by 0.4%, in line with initial predictions, recovering from a 0.1% decline experienced in February.
