In July 2025, Norway's annual consumer inflation rate rose to 3.3%, marking the highest level since February, up from 3.0% in June. The significant contributors to this increase were food and non-alcoholic beverages, which saw a surge to 5.9%, a four-month peak, compared to 4.7% in the prior month. Additionally, transport inflation rose to 2.4% from 1.9%. Several other categories experienced accelerated price growth, such as housing and utilities (4.4% from 4.2%), furnishings, household equipment, and routine maintenance (1.0% from 0.1%), restaurants and hotels (3.9% from 3.5%), and miscellaneous goods and services (1.5% from 1.1%). On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices increased by 0.8% in July, representing the largest rise since February, following a 0.2% increment in the previous month. The Consumer Price Index adjusted for tax changes and excluding energy products (CPI-ATE) maintained a year-on-year rise of 3.1%, consistent with June’s rate, sustaining its highest growth over three periods.
