In the first quarter of 2025, Morocco's unemployment rate decreased to 13.3%, improving from 13.7% during the same period in the previous year. This positive shift was marked by a reduction of 15,000 in the unemployed population, bringing the total to 1.63 million, alongside an increase of 282,000 in employment, raising the number of employed individuals to 10.619 million. Concurrently, the workforce expanded by 266,000, reaching a total of 12.249 million. However, the youth unemployment rate rose to 37.7% from 35.9%. Conversely, the rate among graduates fell to 19.4% from 20.3%, while the unemployment rate for women slightly increased to 18.5% from 18.3%. In terms of job creation, the service sector led with 216,000 new positions, the industrial sector followed with an addition of 83,000 jobs, and the construction sector provided 52,000 new opportunities. Conversely, the agriculture, forestry, and fishing sectors experienced a downturn, losing 72,000 jobs.
