Retail sales in Sweden experienced a 4.3% increase in September 2025 compared to the same month the previous year, building on a 4.4% rise in August. This marks the fourth consecutive month of growth. The uptick was primarily fueled by a stronger demand for durable goods, which saw an 8.1% increase compared to 7.9% in August. Conversely, sales of consumables saw a modest growth of 0.2%, down from 0.6% in August. On a month-to-month basis, retail sales inched up by 0.1% in September, following an upward revision of a 1.1% increase in August, which represents the slowest growth rate in four months. For the July to September quarter, sales climbed 1.6% compared to the previous quarter from April to June.
