Bulgaria's business confidence index experienced a decline, dropping to 15.5 in October 2025 from 18.8 in September, reaching its lowest level since March. This downturn reflects worsened assessments of the current business climate, which fell to 17.8 from 23.7 the previous month. Additionally, there was a notable decline in projections for both production activity, which decreased to 5.9 from 10.6, and employment expectations, which fell to 4.0 from 4.3, for the upcoming quarter. Expectations for the business environment over the following six months also softened slightly to 13.2 from 14.1. Increased pessimism is evident regarding the volume of orders, dropping further to -18.5 from -15. The primary hurdles for business growth remain an uncertain economic environment, which increased to 44.9 from 40.9, and persistent labor shortages, though these slightly improved to 36.0 from 36.6. Despite these challenges, selling prices are anticipated to remain stable over the forthcoming months, with a rise in the balance indicator to 9.3 from 6.9 recorded in September.
